After dinner we took a walk down the street and found this mama sandpiper bird sitting on four of her eggs. Look closely in the lava rocks...yes that is four eggs. She didn't like us even looking at her or her eggs. She laid these eggs right in the parking strip of the sidewalk in the middle of some lava rocks. I hope the cats that roam this neighborhood don't get to them. I will check on her tomorrow.

I know, this must be her first time. I know they lay there eggs on the ground but this is crazy. All the cats the roam that neighborhood, I hope they make it.
We have a bird just up our street that did almost the same thing - right on the side of the road in a bunch of rocks! There are about 10,000 cats that roam the area. Hopefully things work out for her!
Crazy Mama Bird! She actually did blend in pretty well. But I bet your right. If one of those cats get a wiff it will be all over.
Give my best to the eggs. No cats please.
