My Doves

I have a cage out back under the big pine tree where I raise doves. I now have eight. In the summer they will lay eggs and have one or two babies. In the mornings they coo. I love laying in bed and listening to them. They have been alot of fun. They are pretty tame and will let the grandbabies hold them.

My Outdoor Kitty

This is a photo of a stray cat that started to hang around my back yard this past Summer; and as you can see.. he is still here and getting fatter. I have food and water and a warm basket with a heating blanket in it for him to sleep. I have tried to coax him into the house, but he hates the hairless cats and the noise of the grandkids. When he first started to come around he would not even allow you to pet him. Now he allows me to bring him indoors and hold him for a few minutes and then he is ready to go outside. During the summer months, he shared his food with a skunk that would come around. Paul would get so mad at me for feeding the skunk. But he was so pretty and got "so, so fat" on kitty food. I haven't seen him since the weather has gotten colder and the snow has come. I love animals.

KITTY "CASH"

This is one of my hairless "SPHYNX" cats. His name is CASH.
I saw the movie "WALK THE LINE" and fell in love with it and hence this cat's name. My other cat's name is "GOOD KNIGHT MOSES." We just call him Moses. They love to sit on laps and sleep snuggled up to you under the covers. Winters are hard for them... they like to wear sweaters. I love them.

Melissa and her Daddy. Melissa made Paul this blanket for Christmas. The card said "To the Most Important Man in My Life."

I took this photo of Melissa and Heather when we were headed to the afternoon performance of NUTCRACKER. It was taken outside the door of Melissa's apartment in Vegas. They are wearing the BeBe shirts I bought them when Melissa was home in October. Heather is almost six months pregnant here with baby Xander Zachary.

Aaron and Michelle went with us to see Melissa perform.

Melissa signing autographs after the performance.

We made it to Las Vegas to see THE NUTCRACKER. Here is a photo of Melissa after the performance. These little children came to see the performance with their parents and wanted a photo with Melissa and autographs. By the way, Melissa was beautiful as SNOW QUEEN.

This is a photo of the back of the house.

It has been snowing at our house alot this Winter. This photo was taken about a week before Christmas. I love the trees when it snows.

NUTCRACKER TIME

December is one of my favorite times of year because I get to see my daughter Melissa perform in the NUTCRACKER. She is dancing with Nevada Ballet Theatre's production again this year. This year she will be performing as the SNOW QUEEN, LEAD FLOWER, MERLETON, and mother in party scene. This is my 16th year watching Melissa perform in the NUTCRACKER. She first performed as a Party Girl when she was 9 years old. I will try to find a photo and post it. When Melissa was little, my dream for her was to be a professional ballerina. Isn't that every mother's dream.... and every little girl's dream. Yet; how many little girls actually grow up to be a ballerina. I have been so thrilled and proud to watch my daughter grow from a young girl with a dream, to a young woman of beauty and poise. Thank you Melissa for making your mother's dream come true; I hope it was your dream as much as it was mine.

It is NUTCRACKER time. We are traveling to Las Vegas this Friday to see Melissa as SNOW QUEEN in ballet. It wouldn't be Christmas without the NUTCRACKER. This is Melissa's 16th year performing in the NUTCRACKER. She was nine years old when she performed with Ballet West as a party girl. Isn't this a beautiful photo of her?It is her company photo. I love you "LuLu"

I know that this in not a Christmas photo, but I thought it was really cute and wanted to share it with everyone. We went to the Halloween Parade at Grant Elementary School where, Emmy, Ayana and Mikayla go to school. The girls really wanted their Aunt Melissa to walk in the parade with them. Melissa dressed up as a "ballerina." You are looking at Aunt Melissa, Heather's little boy, Zeke, Heather, Audrey and Emmy; Adrienne and her two little girls, Evelyn and Lydia.

A TRIP TO THE CANYON FOR A BALLET PHOTO SHOOT

OUR WILD ROSE

Me and Adrienne drove to Elko, Nevada to see Melissa Rose on tour with Nevada Ballet Theatre. We found this slot machine in the hotel lobby and had Melissa pose for this picture.
Melissa thought this slot machine would bring the three of us luck and riches, but instead we lost about $30.00. We then went to our hotel room and ate cup of noodles. This is proof that Melissa really is our 'WILD ROSE'.
