A Sad Day!

Today my wonderful husband Paul dug a grave for Moses in the back yard under the big Pine Tree. This was a pretty difficult task, as we had a pretty bad snow storm and the ground was so frozen. I got to write on his casket before Paul finished closing the grave. Since I work in the funeral business, I have some connections. My friend Barbara at the monument company is helping me design a granite headstone which we will placed on the grave on Christmas Eve.
Condolences can be made directly to this blogsite.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AARON

While I was just sitting around doing absolutely nothing (including blogging)......my youngest son AARON had his 29th Birthday. We had a big party for him and his sister Audrey gave him two presents .... money and a SNUGGIE... Audrey thought it would be really funny to give him a SNUGGIE... but as you can see... he ended up really enjoying it!

THANKSGIVING 2009

Baby Jacob comes up with a bad rash on THANKSGIVING evening. Adrienne, Audrey and myself spend three hours in the emergency room. I would like to say there has been some improvement today; but NOT SO MUCH! Infact.....he looks worse. We are keeping a close eye on him. Poor little SWEET BABY GRANDSON....

Aaron's BIRTHDAY

I HAVE NOT BLOGGED FOR SUCH A LONG TIME...
Since the last time I posted we celebrated AARON'S Birthday. Audrey bought him two presents... money and a SNUGGIE! She thought he would get a big kick out of it and it might be good for a laugh at his party. However, he ended up liking it! Go figure!

IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN.....

Well it's now the first of SEPTEMBER... you know what that means, don't you? IT MEANS THAT... next month is OCTOBER... and that means... HALLOWEEN! Our family abosolutely LOVES Halloween... so we start our decorating, celebrating and yes... PRANKING early. So..yesterday, I headed off to the dollar store and bought HALLOWEEN RING POPS for the grandkids for when they got home from school... and I also purchased an gauze bandage.. not your usual gauze bandage.. but one that was soaked in fake BLOOD... (Welcome Halloween)...After pranking Evie... we tied this bandage around Baby Jake's head and off to dinner we went. We sat him in the high chair at GREEK SOUVLAKI and watched as numerous customers came in to eat and couldn't help but to "stare" at Jake while they ate their food, whispering between themselves ... but too nervous to ask what happened to this little guy. Or did they just think we were wierd? Never-the-less... it was fun....
We Start off SLOW... THE PRANKS AND SCARES WILL GET WORSE....WELCOME HALLOWEEN

HANGING OUT ON THE FRONT LAWN...

We spend alot of time on the front lawn while the grandkids play around. I guess this game is 'HOP ON PAPA'... (Tryn & Lydie)

HOW SWEET IS THIS....

When Melissa was home she bought me a really special and thoughtful gift. She brought me home a recipe book for 'DEVILED EGGS'... Melissa knows that I always make deviled eggs at many of our family get togethers... This book is so cool because it has all of these different recipes in it. Even deviled eggs with chocolate.... So, Melissa went home before I got to try any of the recipes. Today, for Sunday dinner (everyone always comes) I tried the 'BLU DEVILED EGGS".. They were really yummy! Everyone liked them, except Kelly (she hates eggs)... Blue cheese crumbels mixed into the yokes with bacon on top. The book also tells you how to cook the "perfect hard egg"....with beautiful yellow yokes (no green rings) and perfectly centered yokes...Thank you LuLu for this thoughtful book... next week... a new recipe...
Here is a photo of how they turned out.. Oh the cherry tomatos are from Aaron's garden..

DINNER with the STARKS...

Melissa, Adrienne and Audrey were invited to have dinner at a function with the Catholic Church. They were respresenting STARKS FUNERAL HOME.

EXERCISING with AUNT LuLU...

On Melissa's last day at home with us, she decided she needed to get some exercise. Well, the little nieces couldn't let her exercise alone, so we drove Melissa, Mikayla, Trynity and Ayana to th 7800 South entrance of the Jordan River Parkway. Here we left Ayana and Melissa to jog to the 7200 So. entrance. The rest of us drove to the 7200 so. location where we met up with Ayana and Melissa and ALSO... Adrienne, Evelyn, Lydia & Jake.

Meeting up with the rest of us at 7200 So on the PARKWAY

From this point, Paul, Trynity, Ayana, Mikayla and LuLu walked to the 5400 So. Location.

Melissa loves her nieces and nephews..

The Final Stretch.....

At the 5400 So. location, Ayana and Melissa got on their bikes and rode the Parkway to the 3900 So. location. It was great fun for the kids..and lulu

Thank you to my son Zach for such an awesome weekend. It was only about 36 hours but it was so much fun and so relaxing that I felt like I had been gone for almost a week. I didn't think about work, bills, or problems...The photo is of Zach, and his business partner Allen and one of their graphic designers... Carlos.

LuLu's car won an award. She was so excited.

MELISSA COMES FOR A VISIT...

Melissa has been here for five days for a visit. We have had so much fun while she has been here. I miss her so much when she is so far away from home. She left to go back to school in Arizona just 30 minutes ago...and I can't stop crying. I want to blog about our time with her...but have to re-apply my makeup so I can go back to work for a couple of hours. Will update later tonight or tomorrow.. LOVE YOU LULU

Just like KIDS IN A CANDY STORE.....

Here we are in a Candy Store in Heber. This past weekend Zach and Kelly invited the whole family to PARK CITY for the Mustang Car Show. Zach paid for our rooms at a very nice Marriott Hotel where the kids all enjoyed swimming. We also had a fun time celebrating Lydia's 5th birthday while in Park City. Melissa even brought her MUSTANG from Arizona and Zach paid to have it registered in the show with his two MUSTANGS. Zach insisted that we all stop at this candy store where he announced that the kids and adults could pick anything they wanted. HOW FUN! OH AND YES...Even Trynity has been here with us... ALL 21 of us enjoyed Zach's kindness. Thank you son...I love you...

DADDY -DAUGHTER Saturday Activity

Today Audrey and Paul spent the whole day in the kitchen making home-made jam.
They made, Apricot Pineapple (thanks to Kelly's mom for allowing Paul to pick the apricots from her tree), and Strawberry/Raspberry Jam, and Orange Marmelade. They were pretty proud of themselves. Can't wait to taste it..

WHY SOME PEOPLE SHOULDN'T PLAY WITH LIGHTERS...

While we were sitting in the front yard waiting for it to get dark enough to light the fireworks Zach had bought for our 24th of July celebration, Aaron grabbed the torch lighter and lit the hair on his legs on fire. He thought it was pretty funny.... me .. not so much!

Views From the Porch of the Playhouse

From the Porch of the Playhouse looking North.. We have alot of fun in this backyard during the summertime.

I found out that the best way to take photos of the kids in the pool was from the porch of the playhouse. Can you imagine how much fun my family could have if I could afford a REAL POOL...

A HOT DAY IN UTAH...

Today (Saturday) it was really hot outside... (over 100%)..so some of the grandkids came over and spent the majority of the day in the pool.. Even little Jacob seemed to like being in the pool and cooling off.

THREE TIRED LITTLE GIRLS....

The day ended at 8:30 in the evening when we had to get all of the kids out of the pool for the day. As usual, Evelyn cried when she was told it was time to go home. She spent the night with us last night too. They looked really tired when I snapped this photo. (Evelyn, Mikayla & Lydia)

DON'T DRINK & FISH.....

Someone should have told this group of guys (and girls) that drinking and fishing, just don't mix. We were driving by the parkway today (driving, not walking) and found this group folks that tried to drive their vehicle across Jordan River.

GOOD NIGHT MOSES!

I don't know if you can see the tall can of beer on top of the car..

Just wanted to everyone how big the baby Doves are getting.

Paul, Zeke & Outdoor Kitty...

For the past 3 years "out door kitty" has been hanging around our backyard. He started out to be very shy, timid and afraid of all of us. Now he will come and sit on Paul's lap and allow himself to be petted and loved. He still is a little afraid of the grandchildren, but he's coming around. He has been taken to be neutered, so no worry of impregnating other kitties. He shares his food with three of our skunks every night. I LOVE ANIMALS...
