The Mama Sandpiper that laid her eggs in the parking strip on our street had her babies sometime yesterday. She has four little babies. Look closely and you can see them next to her. They already have their feathers and have been up walking (or I should say running) around. They are so cute. Now I know why she picked the lava rocks to lay her eggs in. The babies blend right in making them hard to see.

There are babies in this picture? I think I might be able to see them...not sure though. That is awesome work of that mama bird. And we all thought she was dumb for making that move.
We stopped by there the other night before we left and they are so cute. I hope they will be okay, but they are really hard to see in the rocks.
That is so crazy. I have seen it for myself, but I can't believe that crazy bird would lay her eggs in the lava rocks. Who knew! It looks like they survived.
AWWW!!! We had a mama quail by our house but I guess her eggs were duds, she abandoned them :( I was so excited to see babies!!!
